Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to one lawyer and improve office efficiency and effectiveness - Prepare legal documents such as pleadings and motions as well as those pertaining to real estate and estate planning - Prepare correspondence - Transcribe dictation - Assist in basic legal research and fact-checking, including communication with financial institutions, insurance companies, and governmental agencies - Manage and organize legal files and documents - Communicate pleasantly with clients, witnesses, and court personnel
Experience:
- Experience as a Legal Secretary or Assistant in a law firm or legal department -Command of the spoken and written English language, including the rules of grammar and punctuation Proficiency with Word and Outlook; knowledge of Quickbooks a plus - Familiarity with legal terminology, documentation, and procedures - Knowledge of document management systems - Familiarity with legal drafting and transcribing - Ability to conduct basic legal research using online resources - Organizational skills with attention to detail for proofreading legal documents - Experience in supporting attorneys who litigate cases a plus Job Type:
