Our client is hiring direct for a Logistics job near Chardon, OH. You must have a minimum of five years experience in this role and have knowledge with MS Office and JDE or similar systems. You will be responsible for directing distribution and logistics strategy and consolidating products from multiple locations through one centralized location. You will also supervise the shipping and warehouse team. The salary for this position begins at $65,000 per year - $75,000 depending on experience.

The Logistics Manager job responsibilities include:

Direct, coordinate logistics activities
Analyze inbound/outbound freight channels
Negotiate freight service rates for outbound, domestic and export.
Manage daily outbound shipments
Meet customer's on-time delivery expectations and reduce cost.
Oversee daily work activities of shipping/warehouse team.
Provide leadership, training, motivation and evaluate employees.
Lead improvement efforts in packaging, shipping functions.
Utilize poka-yoke regarding critical elements of distribution process.
Maintain compliance while managing finished goods value stream.
Review and update cost distribution.
Enforce and promote safety regulations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.
High level of technical competence in employee and traffic management.
Experience with freight negotiations, warehousing layout, and material handling technologies.
Expertise in continuous improvement techniques, root cause counter measure, quality systems, lean strategies, and material flow.
Leadership regarding analytical, strategic thinking, decision making and negotiations skills.
Change agent with strong facilitation skills
Proven ability to coach and counsel employees through continual change.
