Logistics Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:
1.
Responsible for managing daily out-bound shipments while meeting customer's quality and on-time-delivery expectations and reducing total cost.
2.
Directs and coordinates logistics activities and analysis of inbound and outbound freight channels. Work with corporate logistics to negotiate and contract freight services and rates for outbound, domestic and export.
3.
Responsible for overseeing the daily work activities of the shipping/warehouse team. Provide leadership, monitoring, training, motivating and evaluating employees.
4.
Works closely with various leadership members/cross functional departments to ensure seamless processes/adherence to policies and maintain customer service levels that exemplify our operating values.
5.
Leads continuous strategic and tactical improvement efforts in warehousing, packaging, and shipping functions while ensuring quality and accuracy- poka-yoke critical elements of the distribution process.
6.
Responsible for developing and maintaining compliance in standard work while managing the finished goods value stream.
7.
In conjunction with materials manager, improve finished goods days on hand while ensuring FIFO processes.
8.
Promotes and enforces 5s and audit process throughout the shipping/warehouse areas.
9.
Promotes and enforces safety regulations, polices and procedures ensuring a safe work environment.
10.
Compies with all Company policies and procedures.





Experience Requirements:

1.
Bachelor's degree plus 5 + years related experience in a logistics/distribution leadership role.
2.
May consider an appropriate combination of related experience and education.
3.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with JDE or similar systems software a plus.
4.
Demonstrates clear understanding of all tasks and processes within functional responsibility.

Has a high level of technical competence in employee management, traffic management, freight negotiations, warehousing and layout, continuous improvement techniques, root cause counter measure, quality systems, Lean strategies, material flow and material handling technologies.
6.
Strong leader with analytical, strategic thinking, decision making and negotiations skills. Good written/verbal communications and hands on management style.
6.
Change agent with strong facilitation skills and proven ability to coach and counsel employees through continual change.
7.
Less than 5% travel.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
