Our client, a very stable, growing, employee oriented company is in search of a Network engineer who wants to work with a variety of networking technology and GROW !
This position will be responsible for designing, testing and optimizing new and existing voice and data networking solutions
Responsibilities:
Recommend, design and implement scalable LAN, WAN and Wireless networking solutions in complex campus environments. Perform configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of network infrastructure devices including Firewalls (Cisco ASA), Switches (HP/Cisco), Routers, wireless access points, wireless controllers and monitoring applications. Configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of existing VoIP network and devices. Familiar with configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of video conferencing solutions. Proactively monitor and resolve network performance and communication issues to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. Provide continual performance and reliability optimizations of enterprise voice and data network. Develop and maintain network disaster recovery procedures and documentation including detailed topology mappings, device configurations and checklists. Establish and monitor network infrastructure security configuration standards, procedures and compliance. Maintain contact with vendors and consultants for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing voice and data network infrastructure and improving technical knowledge. Resolve troubleshooting issues in a timely manner; documenting steps taken to do so and ensuring customer satisfaction at the user level. Proactively coordinates asset life cycle maintenance by procuring, deploying, maintaining and retiring network hardware devices, software and peripherals. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technologies and products, independently using documentation and online resources. Up to 10 percent travel outside of Ohio related to support, seminars, meetings, training, etc.
Qualifications:
Associates or Bachelor's degree in technical or business discipline; technical preferred. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Minimum five years of related professional experience. Network related certifications a plus. Expert level of understanding with VLANs, trunking, tagging, QoS, static/dynamic routing and high availability configurations within virtualized (VMWare) networking environments. Experience supervising and/or training, coaching and mentoring junior staff members desired. Expertise with virtualized environments; VMware strongly preferred. Familiar with HP C7000 enclosures and HP VirtualConnect desirable.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
